EGL has worked with many commercial partners, successfully delivering commercial and infrastructure projects for more than 30 years. From initial site selection and feasibility study, through to investigation for Resource Consent and ultimately to Building Consent, EGL provides comprehensive support.

We work with our clients as part of a specialist team of consultants to optimise earthworks, retaining walls and foundation design, providing key input to aid the structural engineer in providing the best solution for our clients.

Our projects include large industrial warehouses, multi-storey commercial developments, retirement homes, and multi-unit developments. EGL can also assist with corridor projects such as road, water pipelines, electrical transmission infrastructure and rail corridor alignments. EGL undertook the ground investigation for the SH1 Ngaruawhahia bypass and peer reviewed geotechnical aspects of the SH1 Albany to Puhoi motorway development.

We use software tools such as Settle3D, Geostudio and Wallap and LPile for modelling settlement, slope stability, retaining deformations and piled solutions. We can also determine a site’s vulnerability to liquefaction and lateral spread from a seismic event. The use of these tools allows us to streamline our analysis and provide cost effective solutions to our clients.

EGL has a strong history working with local authorities on infrastructure projects including the Redvale and Hampton Downs landfills. We have also provided geotechnical advice for the development of several quarries including Bombay Quarry and Whitford Quarry.
